PIL AGAINST BACKDOOR APPOINTMENT AND FOR OPERATIONALIZATION OF NSSB

In objection to the DPAR notification issued by the office of the Chief Secretary dated 16th of July 2021 under the subject “Partial lifting of appointments” empowering 76 departments to conduct the so called ‘Departmental Examinations’, the RPP submitted its appeal to the office of the CS on the 13th August 2021 wherein the RPP requested the authority to revoke the said Order and also demanded for the operationalization of Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) with immediate effect.

However the government seems to have turned a deaf ear to the proposal.

Thus the RPP had no other option but to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the said DPAR notification and for the functioning of NSSB since the government Notification is solely aimed at justifying rampant backdoor appointments. The PIL was filed on the 31st August 2021 by Lhikhro Kreo, Secretary (admin) of the RPP and others through Neiteo Koza, Advocate and Counsellor for the petitioners.

It is the demand of the Rising People’s Party that the said vacant number of Posts be advertised and filled only through the NPSC and NSSB recruitment exams in-order to facilitate the practice of Fair and Just recruitment process.

The RPP reassures its stand with the educated unemployed youths in the fight against this menacing system called backdoor appointment and appeals to all the right thinking citizens and civil society organizations to stand up for the future of Nagaland.
